Walk Tall

News suggests mountain walking is as safe as it was 30 years ago!

Great news if you’re a walker or a climber, or even if you’re part of Mountain Rescue as according to The Mountaineering Council of Scotland, mountain rescues have fallen to the lowest recorded point in the last 30 years.

The annual report suggested that he number of mountain rescue incidents could be due to its own mountain safety programme of courses promoting and teaching self reliance in the outdoors.

So feel free to strap on your walking boots, your jacket and your overtrousers and head for the Scottish hills- just don’t forget your common sense!

About Elaine

I'm Elaine and I'm a web content writer at GO Outdoors. That means I write a variety of content for the website, including our Expert Advice Guides. This involves writing guides to help people buy outdoor gear as a beginner. As well as this I work on the reviews- moderating and approving them, so I think I know a little bit about what our customers like and don't like! My aim is to help you understand the outdoors so you can get out there and enjoy it, whatever you've got planned.
