Lady Canning’s Trail – #TakeMeThereTuesday

Spotlighting areas of the UK each week

Tuesday the 14th July saw the opening of the GO Outdoors Lady Canning’s trail, an idea of Ride Sheffield’s Henry Norman some 6 year previous and after 18 months of crowd funding and GO’s helping hand the trail was ready to ride!

On hand to give the trail its official opening were Annie Last and Steve Peat – if an Olympian and a World Champion have smiles from ear to ear after riding the trail it must be good right?

Once the ceremonies were over with, riders of all abilities that helped make the project a reality came throughout the day to have fun and enjoy the trail, with around 150 riders it was a great turn out – plus the sun was shining and the Norfolk arms pub supplied a much needed post ride pint.

The trail built by BikeTrack.org (a local Sheffield company) is a blue graded trail, easily ridden by beginners and a great place to learn more skills before taking on the more challenging terrain of the Peaks. Although only a blue grade, the perfect build means that more accomplished riders will find faster lines and new challenges making it a fun and fast trail – even for Olympians and World Champions.

Here’s Mike from our GO Cycling team to talk a bit more about the project.
