GO Outdoors has shown its support to the UK Armed Forces by signing the
Armed Forces Covenant.
Here at GO we work to ensure everyone, regardless of ability can access the equipment they need to enjoy the outdoors and we support the Armed Forces by offering additional discounts to current and former service personnel (an extra 10% off standard Discount Card prices*), while employees of the company can benefit from our Reservists Policy for those who serve as volunteers.

The signing of the Armed Forces Covenant was attended by GO Outdoors Managing Director Claire Webb, Lieutenant Colonel Andy Black of the 4th Infantry Brigade Regional Employer Engagement Team and Richard Lenton, Regional Employer Engagement Director for the Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association for Yorkshire and The Humber (RFCA).

“We also wanted to reflect our ongoing commitment in a policy specifically for those colleagues who are or are considering becoming part of the Reserved Forces, so we have recently launched a Reservists Policy for colleagues who work for us.
“At GO, we recognise the vital role and contribution of the Reserve Forces and therefore the Armed Forces Covenant and our internal Reservists Policy truly reflect our pride and passion to be supporting this initiative.”
The covenant is a written and publicised voluntary pledge from businesses and charitable organisations who wish to demonstrate their support for the armed forces community, and will see much closer collaboration between Opening Boundaries and the Army based in Catterick Garrison, as well as the wider military forces in the area.
Lt Col. Black said: “We are absolutely delighted GO Outdoors has agreed to sign the covenant and show its commitment to respecting and supporting the Armed Forces.
“It is to everyone’s mutual benefit to recognise the value that our service personnel bring to the community.
“I’m really looking forward to looking at areas where we can work together over the coming years.”
Under the covenant the British Army and GO Outdoors will work more closely together, exchanging skills, knowledge and opportunities.
Organisations which sign the covenant also demonstrate recognition of the value serving personnel, both regular and reservists, veterans and military families, contribute to business and the country.
