Second Golden Pebble Found at Ferry Meadows
LOCAL schools were the big winners in the GO for Gold Treasure Hunt at Ferry Meadows Country Park.
The second golden pebble was claimed this weekend by dedicated treasure hunter Steve Mabbutt for Orton Wistow Primary School.
That means that both star prizes of £500 in gift vouchers for a local good cause went towards supporting local primary education.
The first golden pebble was found by Nick Douglas, the manager of Alpha Kindergarten in Peterborough, during the official treasure hunt weekend.
The second golden pebble was found by Steve using the additional treasure hunt clues that were released on Friday, December 12.
His chosen good cause is the parents organisation Friends of Wiston School and he explained: “My daughter goes to the school and my wife is an active member of the friends of the school and they’ve some great plans to renew the outdoor areas, so this prize should come in very handy indeed.”
