The All clear gets Lyn and her husband to Kathmandu
Dave (husband) and I retired from work July/ April 2009 respectively and were really looking forward to spending more time travelling, exploring and visiting many countries.
In February 2010 Dave was diagnosed with cancer of the kidney which resulted in urgent surgery. The operation was successful and 8 weeks later we flew to Turkey and walked the Saklikant Gorge. However, this was not sufficient and in March / April 2011 we flew to Kathmandu and trekked in the Annapurnas and Himalayas. Hard walking but very rewarding.
We took a photograph with Everest in the background to prove there is life after cancer and gave this to the research staff at Weston Park Hospital to inspire others.
