Feedback from all day, every day, testing helped to craft an incredible set of features that give instant, out the box, comfort from the shoe including a waterproof lining, cushioned EVA mid-sole and innovative outsole lug pattern to provide great underfoot grip.
Sat between the midsole and the outsole, the shoe’s supportive shank is engineered to encourage correct foot-flex and give great underfoot protection; stopping stones from protruding rough terrain.
Trusted technologies:
Three trusted technologies join forces to create this do-everything shoe. Its Gore-Tex® bootie acts as an internal breathable waterproof sock providing wet weather protection as well as all day climate comfort.
The VIBRAM® rubber outsole offers superb grip that’s functional and safe to use on a variety of surfaces – just what you need from a multi-activity shoe.
Completing the tech trio is the ORTHOLITE footbed – a breathable, cushioned and anti-microbial footbed engineered to provide all day comfort and freshness by absorbing shock and moving moisture away from the foot, keeping you cool and dry.
Enhanced grip:
Powered by OPTI-STUD®, Berghaus’ patented lug technology, the Explorer Active’s outsole gives grip on varied terrain with its omni-directional design that works to match your movements.
The OPTI STUD system uses larger studs to create a braking force on impact with the ground and smaller studs to push into terrains enhancing traction and grip.
The verdict:
