Alison’s Outdoor Wedding
During our 10 years together as a couple we have had many outdoor adventures including scrambling in the Lake District, climbing in the Peak District and letterboxing on Dartmoor to name just a few.
At the start of every year we plan another expedition and in 2011 our big adventure was getting married!
What sort of wedding could an outdoor couple have? Well obviously the answer was an outdoor one! So we booked a campsite with views of the Peak District and started planning.
We have tents galore so we encouraged non-campers to come and borrow a tent (large or small) and join us in our celebrations, without crippling accommodation costs. And on the day there were people in top of the range backpacking tents to £10 festival tents, and the Bar Tent was our very large Outwell, (the best tent we have ever bought for long stay camping) – infact it was a bit like a GO Outdoors tent exhibition.
After the dressy part of the day was over and the evening wore on we were to be found in our ever faithful Meindl Boots and Craghopper trousers – ready for the campfire.
And now we are off to Sheffield to spend our wedding present GO Outdoors gift vouchers on a much longed for cool box and more!
It was a day of fresh air and outdoor fun for all – definitely a wedding with a difference.
