A dose of Fishing news from our friends at Anglers Mail
A selection of snippets from this weeks Anglers Mail.
World’s first 3D fishing show!
THE hugely successful River Monsters TV series, featuring star angler Jeremy Wade, hits our screens later this year and is the World’s first fishing programme to be shot in 3-D.
Bristol-based production company Icon Films screened the hour-long episode “Pack of Teeth” in the City and Angler’s Mail were invited for the exclusive preview.
The team at Icon came up with the ambitious idea of producing an episode of the popular series in 3-D and selected Jeremy’s investigation of a sinister deadly fish lurking unseen in the eerie waters of the Okavango delta in Botswana.
Despite the logistical difficulties requiring a much larger camera rig and additional crewmembers to shoot in 3-D, and in a remote location, the Icon team delivered an amazing production.

THE River Thames zander record has been blown out of the water with the capture of a 17-pounder from the tidal river on the edge of London.
Chris Sears smashed the current record of 13 lb 12 oz caught by Ashley Stockbridge in November 2009.
The 43-year-old builder, from Woking, Surrey, legered a roach on a size 6 barbless single hook to 15 lb Soft Strand trace.

HEAVY rains have affected fishing in many areas again over the past week – and one of the best sessions ended early after the angler’s bivvy got flooded!
Specimen ace Warren Gaunt had a hectic 90-minute spell when he bagged roach scaling 3 lb 2 oz, 2 lb 12 oz, 2 lb 10 oz, 2 lb 8 oz and two at 2 lb 6 oz.
The mega session was on new Scottish wonder water Lochnaw, which has seen English heading north to plunder its fantastic coarse fish stocks.

FORMER British carp record holder Terry Glebioska has suddenly passed away at the age 64. He had no previous ill health so it has been a shock to family and friends.
Terry was well known in the big fish world. He shot to wider fame in 2001 by catching Two Tone at Conningbrook in Kent at 59 lb 7 oz.
Since the early 1970s Terry fished all the famous carp waters, including Yateley, Horton, Darenth, Wraysbury and Mid Kent. He also traveled widely for pike, clocking up over 100 20s, including three 3’s, with a best of 33 lb from the Norfolk Broads.
The remarkable thing about this tally is he lived in the tough South East London suburb of Charlton, South-East London – so quality fish weren’t exactly on his doorstep!
Terry’s funeral will take place Monday, July 9, 12.30pm at Our Lady of Grace Church, 145 Charlton Road, SE7 7EZ. All are welcome.
